[bug] Plugin not working properly when video player is in a new window

I need to sometimes present specific portions of videos that I took notes on, and the problem I find is that video player works and the video keeps on playing until i click on it. Then the screen turns grey and stops working.

Shortcuts for pause/play are not working, neither are the other shortcuts when the video is in a separate window.
