Serves two. Total time >6 hours.
Adopted from The Gourmet Vegetarian Slow Cooker.
- 1 1/2 cups split peas
- 1 ounce mushrooms
- 1 red onion
- 1 small tomato
- 1 carrot
- 1 bunch of chard
- Smoke powder
- Chiles
- Chop the 1 onion and saute for 10 minutes until it starts to brown.
- Split the chard leaves from the stems. Save the leaves for later. Add the chard stems, plus all of the other ingredients, plus 1 1/2 tsp smoke powder and 1 chile, plus water, to the pot and slow cook for 6+ hours.
- About 30 minutes before serving, add the chard leaves.
