When you first start the Apple Home App after installing the Homebridge Plugin, you will be presented with the message that some Outlets are found. An Outlet is an accessory type that we assigned to it, to let HomeKit handle these Energy Sockets properly.

When you Continue, you will have the ability to assign a name to this Energy Socket:

But, how do you know which Energy Socket this is?

Because the Homebridge Plugin has no access to the names you assigned to the Energy Sockets, there are two ways to identify which Energy Socket it is:

  1. The easiest way: use the "Identify" button. This will make the Energy Socket flash green a couple of times, so you know which one it is.

OR

  1. The 3c39727ff1e in the screenshot represents the ID of the Energy Socket. You can find this ID for each Energy Socket in the Energy app.

Open the Energy app, go to your Settings and select an Energy Socket. Below the name of the Energy Socket is the ID:

As you can see in this example, this Energy Socket is connected to my Washing Machine (Wasmachine is Dutch for Washing Machine). So we can assign the name "Wasmachine" to this Energy Socket in the Apple Home App.

If you have lots of Energy Sockets, you can leave the names as is, and edit them afterwards. Each accessory in the Home app has their ID listed as a Serial Number. Long press on an Energy Socket in the Apple Home app and select "Accessory Details". Then, go to the settings page by tapping on the settings icon on the bottom right. This will open the screen in the screenshot below where Serial Number is the ID of the Energy Socket.
