1 but,
1 A: Yes [laughter].
1 A: and, uh, anyway, um, right now I-, I'm not, I'm not there but [laughter],
0 B: #There's not a whole lot of fabric variance there.#
0 m-, actually most of the women wear suits more than anything else.
0 her apartment again. But it's really a big, uh, big, uh,
0 A: And, um, I mean, but she was truly, she was truly aware. I mean, I, I, I
0 the United States is changing because, you know, uh, now that so many more
1 children.
0 always look at. And we probably put more money into the systems and
1 the stuff, everything we do over here.
0 know, mega bucks to, uh, you know take everything out and redo it and, you
0 solution, like the Sherman facility than, um, just letting it go in the
1 money for TI, here in the last ten years,
1 town is going down watching the traffic light change.
1 the, uh, clerk told me, uh, don't drink the water. It's contaminated,
1 B: as soon as we get it, I, I'll see that you get a bottle of it.
0 nicely, you know, the, which, uh, is what purifies the water when,
0 A: the action over the rocks and all that kind of stuff [throat_clearing].
0 A: Yeah.
0 B: Yeah, we're still pretty much, you know, in winter, as far as that goes
1 A: Okay.
0 nothing.
0 of forty [laughter].
0 B: Really?
0 graphic at points. But, uh, I think they're both excellent movies.
1 A: Yeah. Real scruffy looking,
1 A: and it wa-, it was really funny, it's, uh, that, that he winds up
0 phone even with the machine. I find people being kind of polite and waiting
0 A: Uh-huh. Uh-huh.
0 invade that second type of privacy where you do know about them and possibly
0 A: Yes, yes, ev-, more harmed or something.
1 because [laughter],
0 like software is only given out to customers, I mean, you can't believe that.
0 B: [Laughter].
0 B: that's, that's only part of the problem.
1 uh, those that are economically disadvantage won't have the ability to make a
1 school that you're going to. [laughter] Can you tell this is past bedtime?
0 B: And you're going to think, well, wait now. Where's the other eighteen
1 the welfare system,
0 gun, my, my mom was getting a rifle for my brother that he wanted, like an
0 antique one and they, he had to fill out some forms, but I guess California
1 [laughter] I'm carrying guns that aren't even mine.
1 B: and they're illegal [laughter].
0 B: I think they ought to teach people how to shoot them too, how to take care
0 realize there are a bunch of crazy people out there that, don't use it for
1 A: #Yeah, yeah, they go out there and get# drunk and start shooting
1 back.
1 house so [laughter],
1 designed the house, so it's our fault,
1 split open or something.
0 just as good as it did when we moved out of it thirteen years ago, so.
0 A: I know it was, um, it's got a really good reputation and,
1 course, if I didn't think that way, we wouldn't still be living here
1 B: Oh, I wouldn't doubt it, yeah.
0 A: [Laughter] She's the most intelligent dog I've ever seen. Course, I'm a
1 when we come walking up to the front door.
0 remember that, that song.
1 A: Yeah.
0 B: [Laughter] I, I think a good one was, um, there was a Peter Frampton song,
1 B: you don't know what you're talking about.
0 B: A running total.
0 B: Uh-huh.
0 B: Uh-huh.
0 would happen to him, I wouldn't stay in Texas, I would, uh, sell the house and
1 take them away from him.
1 B: Yes, that's real easy to do, I have to watch it.
0 A: and he just keeps that. He keeps fairly decent records.
0 B: Oh that's good.
1 [laughter].
0 A: And see, the thing is, you know, he go out and he'll spend it when he
0 B: Uh-huh.
1 of them but one.
0 A: Oh, I'm in, uh, down here in Sherman,
0 A: that's got us in a little bit of trouble now. That's why we, and we was
1 uh, you know, I think even one time we used it to pay our rent.
0 A: Right, I've read that one too. I only had a subscription once, but my
0 A: Uh-huh.
1 B: Um, well I hate to, yes, I do [laughter].
0 tapes that went with them, but, uh, I guess not so much books although they
0 A: All right, Amy, how are you doing today?
0 A: That's pathetic.
0 example there's a hung jury here in Fort Worth, today, in eight to four and
1 dig through boxes in a dress.
0 B: And the supervisor from another area came up to us and, you know, this
1 turn into shorts, you know.
0 B: Um.
0 A: Oh, my God.
0 B: Yeah, and E D S is very particular about this, hair cuts,
1 say I'm nuts, but I am more productive when I'm in pants.
1 A: Yeah, that's terrible, that's terrible gosh.
0 So that's just,
1 then.
1 B: I heard about that.
1 B: I envy you your ninety-four degrees.
1 B: Well, I thought I heard a little Tennessee in there somewhere.
1 B: Gee, you've moved almost, moved around as much as I have [laughter].
0 A: and, uh, [static] they just published this internally, you know, getting
0 and I always thought it's not necessary to measure your time, just to go ahead
1 B: No, no, no, not that kind of music [laughter].
1 up on stage and jump down on top of all these other people.
0 B: Right.
0 A: An old, Genesis?
0 A: Yeah. I saw it when it opened.
0 B: Well no, now, well seventies music, I mean, I'm, like I said, yo-, disco, I
0 we're going to go from the, from nineteen sixty-nine when they took the first
1 so,
0 time, so,
0 B: And that's a lot of fun.
1 A: That does sound like fun. Well I've gotten some good ideas from you
0 B: Yeah, that will be good, yeah.
0 B: and got transferred to Colorado where I was living. Uh, and, he had
0 training, actually who was from there.
1 B: Yeah, I don't know fifty-one stars on this flag wouldn't look too
1 A: Of course you could annex Cuba, but they wouldn't like that a bit
1 [laughter].
1 B: He was really funny. Both of the ones I met have been really funny guys.
0 right, when they're ready for it, you know, that it will come about.
0 that we went in fifty-seven I guess. And interestingly enough the canal is
0 the,
0 A: Ye-, well, I, I don't know if maybe communism is the right, the right word
0 never met anybody who likes it. Do you by any chance?
1 A: [Laughter].
0 A: Yeah.
0 A: Yeah.
0 B: well, in some of the later movies he looks very effeminate,
0 B: I particularly enjoy, I don't know whether you've had a chance to watch
1 bed, I have to get up and, and work the next morning.
0 than anybody else, but I needed the money. [laughter] This is five bucks here.
1 B: I guess not.
0 B: To deny that, at least the majority of it is true. So, you know, it
0 B: and have a good evening.
0 other than, than Puerto Rico as a tropical island and consequently large
0 B: Yeah, but I'm rather in favor of people being bilingual,
0 A: Yeah.
1 B: I'm sorry.
0 A: [Laughter].
1 B: all over the country.
1 B: Oh, are you also [laughter],
1 weather this year because we went to California instead [laughter].
1 New Hampshire you always have that kind of weather.
0 had eighty degree weather here,
1 A: And that's so I could leave by seven.
1 shovel sunshine, you know,
0 they're, no, no, thirty-two pieces.
0 B: Painted them for him in real bright colors.
1 B: Yeah, I, I enjoy volleyball, I'm just not very good at it,
0 I'll be playing again.
1 A: in line, and I don't see how people do that, that drives me batty.
1 was the, the Atari, toot toot,
0 B: Right.
1 A: that there, there is a pretty, um, I wouldn't say snobish [laughter].
1 A: No, [laughter] you can't.
1 [laughter].
0 B: And, they didn't kill as many people in, in forty-five days, and they were
0 B: Um, I do a lot of cross-stitching and painting, when I do have spare time.
1 B: That's my case also. I've got a new born and there's just no time.
0 B: Because a lot of them are similar.
0 A: Yeah. A lot of times you can do that. I think, I the pinks, there's like
0 A: #Pinks and greens.# Yeah.
1 B: And just into everything, so there's not a spare moment.
1 A: No, that's okay.
1 I was like, oh, I don't want to mess those up.
0 A: this time of year?
1 B: um, it's beautiful the next day.
1 B: that, uh, we've had, you know, twelve car pile ups [noise],
0 B: on the free ways because,
1 B: No, no.
0 them on Monday because for little kids it's, it's still kind ever dangerous
0 A: to be on the side walks because they might be some live wires,
0 why they live here, I guess,
0 A: Yeah.
1 A: Mine has got a flat tire, so I'm going to have to do something about that.
1 B: things of that nature. I'm probably the best customer.
0 tables, and, uh, he's been doing a lot of, uh, a lot of decorative type plates
0 background through most of the conversation. Speakers were reversed but
0 B: Oh, my goodness.
1 B: Yeah, I don't either. It's not until you have kids, I guess, you
1 but I've enjoyed talking with you.
1 that I, you know, s-, wish, you know, that I could have that flavor but
1 [laughter],
0 your stomach to digest that meat.
1 B: So, when you prepare a meal, like say on Thanksgiving, what do you?
1 taste because I'm, boy, am I a taste person [laughter],
0 A: Yeah.
1 B: This is my first call.
0 B: Hello.
0 B: Yeah, twenty-one {sounds like he is talking to someone other than speaker}.
0 A: When do you get out?
0 B: #[Laughter].#
0 A: And then they come in last and they have this whole team, you know,
1 row, row, row and one person rowing, right.
0 A: Yeah. Well, that's the way it works. I mean, that's, that's why they're
0 A: You know, like all these people are just standing, sitting around, just
0 A: And it fails and #you're dead.#
1 A: -- what it is for us to make mark off models, you know. It's like,
0 B: Well, when you get, you know, when you get right down to it, the, uh, the
0 one of the things that we're doing which is probably the worst investment in
1 I kind of have to trade off, you know. If you never see it you don't spend
0 you know.
0 It just costs too much, you just can't do it, you know. So, I don't know,
0 B: It seems to be a disproportionate number of blacks, you know, that get
1 I guess I would, I am sure I would take the lethal injection.
0 A: Type things where we're sending people off shore.
0 be able to really, you know, send children to do that.
0 B: I thought seriously about joining at that time, I thought it was a
0 A: Yeah, yeah. That's, that's been interesting, though, the kids that have
0 B: Might not go if it was voluntary, but I don't know how they'd enforce it,
0 B: Huh-uh.
1 B: Like to have a volunteer come here and rake leaves and mow the grass and
1 A: Yeah. I think, uh, oh, boy [laughter].
0 people in Central America. My daughter-in-law is Panamanian, you know,
1 just don't like them [laughter].
0 you'll spend money so,
0 B: That's right. See they make money off of it, whether you use it or not.
0 A: #so that you# would be paying interest.
0 A: That's all right. Sounds like you have a little one there.
0 B: I have two little ones. Yes.
1 and he gets it out and I don't even think I know my number [laughter].
1 A: they figure that, that's correct [laughter].
1 A: The idea is to use their money [laughter].
1 A: don't seem to have the same problem [laughter].
0 A: Yeah.
0 ones {noise like one music note}.
0 A: All ((righty)). Uh, I'll just hand it off to you and hobbies in our spare
0 A: yeah, I've done it before and when I was in hi-, in high school and
0 B: #Well, uh, uh, smoking and# all that stuff?
0 A: but, you know, seems like there's just so many things to do down here, I
0 the, and that sort of movement, and so it's, uh, quite the opposite, so
0 A: Yeah, that's true that the different places in America that, uh, you know,
0 we'll see you in four years.
0 [barking], that's true, they, I think they look at it as, well everybody,
0 A: Yeah.
1 is which yet but,
0 B: Okay.
1 A: We live right by the airport.
1 baseball player to earn a million dollars? That's the only thing I found out
1 A: Beats me. I mean, I know Yankees have won a lot games [laughter].
0 B: Not lately though [laughter].
0 the Pirates will go. And, uh, let's see, {pause} Rangers have got a new guy
1 A: I wish I could [laughter].
1 B: And you never see it.
1 B: Ugh, that's about, uh, ten too many.
0 first hour he started looking at his watch.
0 A: plug it in.
1 A: Don't, don't ask me [laughter].
0 helped.
1 A: Because he says age-wise he'll never be able to handle that again
0 B: I'm, uh, everyone I talk to, uh, I file in my little book and do other
0 B: Right.
0 A: Sure, sure something like the way you'd do, uh, um, bricks around a window,
0 Santa Ana wind down here,
1 A: Oh, yeah a little bit [laughter].
0 B: Yeah.
0 A: Okay.
1 B: ((That's)) unbelievable.
0 B: [Laughter] It was tough.
0 A: Yeah.
0 cars.
0 B: Uh-huh.
1 B: You can see it here. I mean you can just see it hanging in the air
1 A: #in Colorado.# Yeah for two weeks, it was pretty fun
0 B: And one of the best trips we took in last year we, uh, a whole bunch of us,
1 A: Did you get a lot of sand in your sleeping bag and #everything though
0 B: #Yeah, we had sand pretty much everywhere [laughter].#
0 warm,
0 being up there I can remember coming back down to our base camp area at, at
1 A: #and a pump,# and we all went to the pump and we were all washing our #hair,#
1 B: I mean, my agree is absolutely worthless.
0 B: Well uh,
1 A: Huh-uh.
0 me, because he knows, that I know, what I'm doing.
0 A: Uh-huh.
0 A: But it's a real good meal because you have squash and broccoli and, uh,
1 you're fixing dinner.
0 A: I think so too,
1 A: Yeah, that was a sweet and I was like ugh.
0 given time and could not get out of that, no matter what, short of
0 we tend to be, seem to be focused in on it, as long as it were equal and
0 something that the country needs or what the benefits would be?
1 B: Oh, you're dating yourself, man [laughter].
1 B: that's, that's past the point now where I can use them as an excuse, but,
0 B: Yeah, when you do fish. Do you fish for bass or just,
1 bought, uh, I bought a boat, but I bought a ski boat.
0 Lake Fork and Cypress Springs and we've been to Lavon and Texoma, just,
0 B: Yeah, well, that's what I understood anyway. I, I discovered it was much
0 days, you know, like today, like this weekend, of course, it's too windy now,
0 B: that you can, if you, matter of fact, if you, uh, get other people to
0 B: Yeah. But, uh, yeah, Joe Pool, is so close, uh, you know, close into
0 sometimes.
1 things but I haven't done it in so long that I probably wouldn't remember how
1 A: I probably won't make anything beyond this blanket [laughter].
1 [laughter],
1 never get to it.
0 B: But I've made a, um, few things, cross-stitch things. I really enjoy doing
0 noise].
0 B: Yeah [laughter].
1 B: It's a full time job, yeah.
0 have to have people to baby-sit and such.
1 uh, what was that movie, uh, Mr. Mom,
1 clothing store is much preferred,
1 up with.
1 B: Bob ((Macky)) and such [laughter].
0 something, then I have to moderate that because it's like I can't go eat out
0 B: Wow.
0 have to slip some and you pay part of it this month and part of it next month
0 A: Right, because I, I needed a backpack. So, he gave me a backpack, and I, I
0 A: Yeah, yeah.
0 she happened to be doing, and then, she would go to these, uh, arts and crafts
0 A: Yeah, I know,
1 when a good time for zucchini is.
0 B: [Laughter] I, I doubt if zucchini is in there.
0 A: Go ahead.
0 B: People say that it is somewhat better.
0 B: How about investing in the sun. Well nobody wants to pay twenty-five
1 some, uh, I think it kind of washes down from, uh, from your area Linda
0 B: Uh, but, uh, I've, I've noticed that, uh, this year it seems to have been a
0 A: But it,
1 B: Yes, I was just talking to my son today, he's up in Boston,
1 thing anyway [laughter].
1 East situ-, [talking] well,
0 B: Uh-huh.
1 A: She thought it was different, you get to meet a lot of people [laughter].
1 A: Oh, I try, I try to introduce some levity there.
0 B: Yeah.
0 questioning the validity of the results.
1 A: Right.
0 A: Yeah, well, if you turn down the counselling, they will fire you.
0 B: Right.
1 A: I'm not sure.
0 ===========================================================================
0 B: I mean I don't thing they have any redeeming value.
1 Although, I do watch some of some of those frivolous things. Uh,
0 B: But there's a couple of those I've seen once in a while,
0 A: [Laughter] That sounds like a good idea. I notice that, um, since we moved
0 nostalgic older movies,
1 B: Uh-huh, I'm not that hung up to most things.
0 lot of good children's programs that you could watch they could watch several
1 B: Uh-huh.
0 A: I guess I haven't ever had any trouble with that. I have more or less, I
0 A: SESAME STREET comes on from like nine to ten, which is a good time and
0 timing of, of it is good, besides ((the amo-,)) what's on.
0 perhaps, this will be possible.
0 B: Well, I'm trying to think if I ever even had a favorite one at one time,
1 B: They even had somebody portraying Ed Sullivan, and it was very, very funny.
1 B: Huh.
0 A: Uh, yeah.
0 A: Oh my goodness, we might actually get to go to a World Series, huh.
0 B: That's right, it's kind of like Babe Ruth.
0 A: I hadn't heard.
0 A: Oh yeah.
0 A: Yeah, because we usually get one. We usually order our tickets way in
1 B: It's like all right, whose corners is this one.
0 all kinds of nightmares.
1 B: It was like we can't take it back you've got, we've got to keep it now.
1 our chest and it's like oh, your claws need trimming.
0 A: Oh yeah, they do.
0 moved out of the house also.
0 one of the, the first ones that I ever went out [noise] with was with another
1 at night.
0 A: Right, it was summer.
1 go camping.
0 propane and so I get my tent up and I get my fire place built and all that,
1 things going, of course, I got it going full bore. I run out of propane.
0 B: That's right, there goes his battery [throat_clearing].
1 him up the, the hill and,
0 B: Great place, I'd love to go back up there. Maybe I'll get back up there
0 were F B I people and, uh, uh, of the, of the few good things that were in it,
0 B: Yeah, well, they keep it rather secretive, yes [laughter].
1 disappointed that Dustin Hoffman would do this [laughter].
1 you are.
1 B: Oh, yeah.
0 B: Getting people, uh, the, the work program and all the, all the make work
1 This is, uh, a T I experiment to see how talk, Texans talk to other people.
0 about it. I wonder if they thought about it themselves or whether someone,
0 A: Mitch Snider, I don't know who Mitch Snider is.
0 politicians. I can't remember exactly what it was. It was real general
0 B: That's good, especially since you call that one eight hundred number so,
1 so probably knock T I profits margin way down.
0 B: when, you know, these are perfect, so.
0 even.
0 things away, and I just think it's such a hassle, it seems like it would be,
0 A: Yeah, what, they just don't howl that much anymore.
0 ============================================================================
0 couldn't play most the season. They spent an awful lot of money on him, too,
1 A: Okay, I wasn't living here then, so, I can't talk much about that
0 A: Yeah, I think the owners have somewhat lost sight on that because, uh, they
0 B: Yeah.
0 A: I think there's still a lot of distrust for, uh, for an Arkansas man to
0 A: He's a very good athlete, that is true.
1 A: No, I like the team, I really, really like the Eagles a lot, but, uh, Buddy
0 B: Yeah.
1 burned to the ground [laughter].
0 A: Well it's sure been nice visiting with you.
0 @@A: We're having sleet and rain in Indiana this morning so.
0 B: Yeah.
0 B: Yeah, I notice locally a major problem is Kodak. Um, it's interesting
1 this black ash on their cars,
0 B: Uh-huh.
0 B: Right.
0 A: #Well I was going to say,# right. You could put it in, you could, you
1 patent it, [laughter] you know.
0 you to go to and run a program,
0 A: But, that's, uh, that's the only way that you can get to, through to the
0 screen and check where you wanted to start, and where,
0 page.
0 B: Right. Right.
0 A: Instead of saying, where did I make the error?
1 A: in this case. After you load it up change it, hope that's right,
0 B: Oh, yeah, uh-huh. I sure did.
0 B: Yes.
0 A: Yeah. The parts and the labor is what they're charging you, they're not
0 A: Something with, uh, a cuisine that's a little bit, you know, more

0 B: Oh yeah.
0 A: Yeah.
0 B: You know, because you have, yeah so it you got to have, uh, at least have
0 know, written in about seven years, so, I'm not real sure how they're, how
0 A: That's right [throat_clearing].
0 even have opposed it, it, it was,
0 B: Yeah, yeah.
0 policy that in defending themselves and in, uh, in their handling of their
0 B: What are your m-, music interests?
1 @A: Uh, just about any kind of music except acid rock [static],
0 B: Me, too.
1 B: [/Static] Oh, really. You're older than I am [laughter].
1 A: Yeah, when he played DANNY BOY it just almost brought,
1 B: Yeah, that's, that's nice to do, that is. [breathing] I've got a,
0 well versed in, in kiddy music [laughter].
0 B: Uh, uh, uh, I think I know who you're ta-, oh, I know who you're talking
0 B: Oh, I, I've never cared for Hank,
0 B: Well, that's a shame --
0 B: a, a lot at, at the stores, a-, a-, at record stores, you'd,
1 B: Uh, I think they should do it.
0 they had drugs in their body, I mean they were fired on the spot.
0 B: There was no ifs, ands or buts about it.
0 B: Y-,

0 B: Yeah, but then you can look at it there, too, well, alcohol's legal.
1 A: it's like, huh-uh, huh-uh, no. They need, they need some help, too

0 need demolishing, or need fixing up, so --
1 ============================================================================
1 A: I agree [laughter].
1 A: I got one tonight about six thirty when I sat down to eat dinner, carpet
1 A: Uh-huh.
0 to do is have to answer the phone. And if it's some salesman, that just makes
1 A: Huh [laughter].
1 A: I didn't think we could go too far on this privacy thing, but, uh,
0 B: [Laughter].
0 A: You seen, uh, EDWARD SCISSORHANDS?
0 B: Yeah, huh [sniffing].
0 A: -- and, uh, it's about a, uh, piece of land that he rents. Uh, he works,
0 B: I, I, one of the things that I was really impressed with, uh, she has to
0 B: Uh, [smacks] I, am quite positive on the things that I have seen
0 B: Uh, I know that there are young people, characterized, I guess as being
0 A: Right.
0 A: do stuff.
1 A: hours a week or five percent of their salary,
1 A: we could, they could solve all the world's problems or something.
1 we could, uh,
1 B: [Sniffing].
1 A: Long way, uh,
0 A: #Because we have,# you know, every-, everywhere that a tree is down people
0 B: -- so much as, we just want to help people out. So it's real neat.
0 A: But, uh,
0 B: [Sniffing].
0 B: Right.
1 know I could never afford to go visit a kid in Guatemala.
0 B: #Right, that's the way I am.#

0 A: #There are a lot of# people that aren't guilty that's in jail.
1 punishment, but if I were sitting on a jury and had to make the decision
1 B: Is it? I, I'm from, I've lived in Ohio and I didn't realize that
1 B: Well, see he shouldn't have been trying to slit her throat anyway
1 mom would probably kill us, but [laughter],
0 A: -- I'm not sure that that's not a bad idea and, or the military for a year
0 B: Yeah [sniffing].
0 A: I think it's a really a good thing. I, I like to see, of course, there's,
1 B: Oh, I got ahead of you there. I got three and one on the way [laughter].
0 A: Uh, maybe it's not like it is nowadays really,
0 A: Yeah, yeah, I wh-,
0 B: Exactly.
0 B: just know they're close by.
1 B: [Laughter] I'm jealous.
1 trunk?
1 A: And he said, a what? And I said, a tire tool.
1 @@B: Yeah, right. [laughter]. Like oil, [laughter] or oil [laughter].
1 the big ten, a prestigious conference, I joined the marching band.
1 B: At least start saving.
1 B: Uh-huh.
1 B: Well, yeah, somewhat [laughter].
0 A: That's true, yeah.
1 B: Whether you like the mascot or not, or whether [laughter] it's close by.
1 B: Tried to have fun.
1 B: Well, wonder if, if this advice was, uh, worth following for, uh, choosing
0 Speaker B had his T V on extremely loud and could be heard
0 don't really need their help to do that.
0 A: Yeah. Well, I had heard a couple of people, you know, that I had talked to
0 B: Oh, I'm with you, I have to check T NEWS every, everyday. It's my
0 the season, and the Cardinals got killed by the Cowboys, so.
0 but anyway [laughter].
1 A: Yeah.
0 B: there's no question about that, so.
0 that was real close to the good section [laughter] but in the little bit
0 B: Yeah, I've, I've been over there from time to time. Uh, you're, you're at
0 B: Wolf pack, okay.
0 A: Yeah, yeah, I re-,
0 B: Right.
1 what time it was.
0 A: Dayton, Ohio, I'm from North Carolina.
0 A: In Raleigh.
0 been around for over forty years, and we're just really, uh, uh, now, trying
0 B: Uh-huh.
0 did, (( )) you make very good money up here. He goes, yeah, I make a lot, a

1 A: [Laughter].
1 A: Well, I can go even better than that, I've never seen DALLAS either
0 A: [Laughter].
1 knocked off.
1 B: Good.
0 A: Oh really.
0 A: {Takes a deep breath} Well, credit cards, boy, that's an easy topic,
1 something I want [laughter].
0 A: There's a big difference there.
1 A: You know, I just, I'm just shocked at the end of the month,
0 B: But, you know, um, I, I have some feelings about it in the sense that I
0 A: Uh-huh.
0 B: See, now in a situation like that, the boys are only sixteen years old, and
1 more.
0 B: Um.
1 they, they had, they had three kinds of potatoes.
1 A: They had mashed potatoes, they had French fries, and they had au gratin.
1 A: That's overdoing it.
0 A: But, uh, I usually, I can usually find something to eat there, even if it's
1 [laughter].
0 A: Yeah. Who's the coach's name?
0 B: He, uh, I don't know, he's got a million dollar contract when he quits.
0 favorite. It's just that I haven't watched many sports this year, or in the

0 B: But Louisville's is higher than most other universities and,
0 or SIXTY MINUTES, I can't remember which one, and got blasted. Uh, you know,
1 B: So, but, uh, Denny Crum ran his mouth a little bit too much [laughter].
0 B: More powerful than you think.
0 weekend.
0 B: Yeah.
0 all these people employed, right?
1 B: #And, and #[laughter],
0 A: No [laughter],
1 B: Um, that's interesting, and how many administrators is that going to take?
0 B: Yeah, well, that's, that's part of where my son is, um, would like to go to
0 it, the question of, of, you know, of how far should you take a kid in the
1 anything. Oh another things that's wrong with schools, this is big,
1 think they have to do that because most everybody passes.
0 A: I don't either.
0 B: I have nothing to say about this.
0 B: But, uh,
1 B: Yeah, well. I doubt that, but,
1 [laughter] I, that's what I planted.
0 evergreen type shrubs.
0 B: Yeah, I do that myself, too. I really don't appreciate them calling me up
1 A: -- doesn't look too good. So I can't say anything about anybody else's
1 B: Okay.
1 B: I forgot all about that that it had to be pressed.
0 family --
0 B: Oh yeah.
1 A: They like that.
0 B: Well do you, do you, so you go, if you're, if you're not doing any kind of

1 A: You know.
0 B: if you really want it.
0 earn.
0 for your life insurance. So then we, when we all graduated from hi-, college,
1 @B: Uh, well, to tell you the truth, my husband does most of the work.
1 B: No, well, last, uh, no I do enough other things, I don't feel guilty about
0 A: Oh this, this comes with the blade on it, you mean?
0 A: But they don't, they, they have special munching, mulching, uh, mowers --
0 A: Yeah.
1 A: I've been having it treated. And it makes it grow much faster. Uh,
0 ===========================================================================
1 B: Hey, that'd work for me, let me tell you [laughter].
1 A: I'm, I'm intrigued by it, but I'm not sure I want to go see it yet
0 could.
0 B: Um.
0 B: But he's kind of branching out.
1 player more so than he is, because he really played the part good.
0 B: Guess it didn't last too long at the box office,
0 B: and, The, you know, that kind of,
1 as well just plan on staying up all night, because you know [laughter],
1 A: They're eight and ten.
1 people like us, you know [laughter].
1 mine, but the other day I got one about fishing and I thought, oh, my.
0 A: Because when they listened to that tape they would have really had a good
1 B: Say, well, I know it takes a fishing pole and some bait, and some water
1 A: Yeah.
0 A: Yeah.
0 in, not in Lewisville.
0 course, I don't know that that's real-, really weather related. I think, you
0 B: Uh-huh.
0 A: Yeah.
0 B: Uh-huh. Yeah [laughter] that's the hard thing out that way, but,
0 icebergs that you see floating out here in the north Atlantic,
0 A: Right.
0 A: Yeah.
1 A: I sure hope we, I sure hope we don't get a hard freeze,
0 tickets made, everything, and the judge called and had it all canceled so he
0 B: That ((it)),
1 A: -- and I usually come away thinking, no I really don't like this show
0 B: O'Gear {phonetically spelled}, um, I'm sure you've heard of it, it was a
0 trying --
1 A: -- just, just to get a sense for, you know, how, how it affected them.
0 A: Oh, TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES.
0 realistic upsets of the violence. The violence can seem very realistic, but
0 A: -- and then there was a big climactic fight scene, and they didn't remember
1 A: -- or something, because I'm not that old [laughter],
0 B: #I think# it's, it's a matter of both. Um, e-, economics has a lot to do
0 thought or been told especially by the, for lack of a better term, women's
1 A: [Radio] [Talking] Uh, being a former drug user [laughter].
0 A: And what we do is we'll have a drug test if an, if a, a break or a man, uh,
0 B: Yeah.
0 A: -- cut and dried, you know.
0 B: Yeah, I think that's probably true, too. That's, that's, that's sort of
0 A: Yeah.
1 time because I kept waiting for my name to came, come up, you know,
0 A: [Laughter].
0 B: Right, right, and of course, you know, they did {phone being moved around
1 A: Um, yes, uh-huh [laughter].
0 A: That's right.
0 B: -- something like that. And they, at that time, they had no testing
1 A: And I just, you know, went, Oh, where? [Laughter].
0 A: Well, I was just looking around my house and thinking about the painting
1 B: Yeah, yeah, that's for sure.
0 this little bright spot you could see [laughter]. It seems like you could see
0 we've got all hardwood floors, and, uh, we, we've learned to be a little more
0 B: Well, it's, it's not too bad. It, it, uh, the floors are finished with a
0 A: We painted every room in this house, some of them like two, three times.
1 A: And, they just, they ruin, [laughter],
1 A: No, I wouldn't think so [laughter].
0 B: Uh, a little bit, yeah, yeah.
1 A: Oh, we got to do that this summer. We're dreading it.
1 A: Oh, wha-, what else can I tell you about painting?
0 uh, it's very, I don't know, it's called (( )), or they have loudspeakers on
1 Pierre, he's, or, uh, P-, uh, Pedro, he's the best,
0 was, that was safe ground to walk around, but, uh, particularly in San Juan --
1 arrange fifty-one stars? [laughter].
1 B: So, I don't know. [music] And it's also a long way away [laughter].
0 to St. Thomas, and it just starts from the ocean up.
0 A: And but you see a lot of advertising for that, uh, as far a vacation
0 to do basic cheese fondue, and I have two different kinds of breads and some
0 B: That's always a good thing. Vegetable trays always go over so well,
1 B: Oh, definitely. I think better even than, than other kinds of food
1 B: Oh, well, that's good because I know they've been really expensive lately.
0 A: Of course, their seasons are switched.
0 chocolate like, unsweetened,
1 B: Uh, I wouldn't know what to do with it.
1 B: We're just discussing what we'd do with five thousand.
1 B: I hope so.
0 who an expert was.
0 showed that and it was really devastating and, ((it would, uh)),
0 A: Yeah.
1 the feminists,
1 A: I think they should all wear signs.
0 A: If you can stay out of it, although I guess, although I did notice that all
1 fat to go.
0 right, you know, the right sex,
0 A: Oh, yeah, God forbid you should make some kind of sexist remark and say,
1 A: I think her background totally bothers me.
1 large, you know,
0 B: covered all the bases didn't she?
0 Midwest,
0 us and, I don't know,
0 A: no one has ascended to that level yet?
0 down.
0 A: -- to other companies so that th-, other companies can recognize our E mail
1 going to be in this home for a while,
0 A: Yeah, it's, uh, it's a nice area as it were. About the only two things
1 us really likes taking care of all that grass, so,
1 of neighborhoods that don't have these problems at all, and had I only known
1 next house is going to sit square in the middle of at least ten acres of land
1 [laughter].
1 strange mechanical beast,
0 B: -- damage.
0 B: Oh, yeah.
0 going to be paying off or have been or,
0 B: Uh-huh.
1 a year, so [laughter],
0 B: uh, I, even as a somebody making twice what I was making, how could you
0 B: Uh-huh.
1 B: Yeah, and they have their own quirks and tolerances and,
0 B: Yeah, yeah something like that, except it's, it's supposed to be really,
0 impression, too.
0 camera angles,
0 B: radishes.
1 A: Yeah, these two cats, it's hard to keep anything around.
1 A: Yeah, really.
1 A: Kitty cat, what do you think about being a star [laughter].
0 B: [Laughter].
0 B: Yeah, he works for them right now. He's been there almost six years now.
1 B: Oh.
1 tonight [laughter].
1 A: Oh.
0 A: Yeah, Rochester's a nice town, too. They, they said that they had, had,
1 A: Yeah, I think that was a logical decision there.
1 and the whole island wanted to know when the hanging was going to take place.
1 A: Okay.
1 to the topic.
1 A: Okay [laughter].
1 A: Well, say hi to Al, or Hal the next time you see him.
1 B: And, uh, so I've heard the name and, uh, well, back to the topic
1 uh, dog just ran off with my shoe, [laughter] that's off the subject,
0 that there, uh, that as difficult as it is, or as, as much as they try, they
0 was interesting that they think that they're basically impartial.
0 because uh, it seems like certain newspapers always espouse certain
1 variety to choose from.
0 A: Um. I really, uh, have gotten out of the habit of listening to the radio
0 B: And, and so it's kind of a, oh, that's what's interesting is the C N N, uh,
1 A: Um. Well I am, we're fairly new to the area and so we're still shopping
0 B: -- and this kind of thing and I think that, Dallas, it turns out, though
0 A: Uh-huh.
0 uh, probably not near as bad as New York, uh, I'm sure.
0 B: Yeah [clicking].
1 go to the beach next Wednesday,
0 B: That's why New York gets so cold, because it's so close to Canada.
0 B: I should k-, leave the ice out of it, but the snow is real pretty.
0 B: Yeah. One thing about the snow in March, it, at, at least it'll melt. It
1 A: So I like Gordon Lightfoot, do you know who he is?
1 you know, my wife left me, my dog left me, you know [laughter].
1 A: Very badly.
0 B: Yeah.
0 B: -- and I was in, like, chamber music groups and stuff, so I'm used to
0 much instrument to it. You know, it doesn't have, like all the brass and
1 A: They're not going to recruit me anymore, I'm through.
0 toweling down her throat and up her nose [laughter]. Anyway, this is happened
0 A: Something that I really don't understand is when someone goes to jail --
0 A: What do they need cigarettes for?
0 like and there's a lot of people that tell me that, that maybe my thoughts are
0 that do nothing but sit on their duff all day and here it costs us seventeen
0 B: And something else that I would,
1 B: And, you know, we're supposed to be, and I quote, in a democratic society.
1 haven't produced since then but,
0 about football in the summer f-, from the, the World League.
1 before,
0 just too light in weight.
0 A: Yeah, we had some pretty strong winds pick up this morning and they've been
0 B: Exactly.
0 A: -- and I worked there in the southwest for ten, almost ten or eleven years.
1 A: And I, I been praying that God would put a desire to read the Bible
0 B: -- so I like reading those to her and she really enjoys those. So that's
0 A: uh, oriented, yeah.
1 you know, uh, gosh, if, if I read straight out of the Bible to her she'd
1 B: That's right [laughter].
1 my gosh if they show that,
1 B: Yeah,
0 A: because they'll take a classic and, and, uh, televise it --
0 B: Yeah.
0 uh, what we do is, we stay up till around one thirty,
0 A: Oh, do you watch SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE? What? He's got what?
1 A: you better be so,
0 A: -- because we don't want to do anything like study or anything,
0 know.
0 give you like local news, okay.
0 B: Oh, really, that's cool.
0 it's funny, sometimes it's not, but, uh, you know,
1 really watch that?
0 A: and we came up here, we, well, we came to the United States in nineteen
0 A: No.
0 B: whole thing [laughter].
1 B: intended to be the issue there.
1 B: Yes, and I hate it [laughter].
0 B: How about you?
1 B: Do you go through this, is this something that you go through every year
0 B: Uh-huh.
1 now.
1 use [laughter].
1 B: Yeah, well, don't let it collect dust. At least exercise while dusting it
0 B: Get back in shape.
1 A: or Jane Fonda.
0 A: (( )).
1 B: [Laughter].
1 elections, uh, even down to the, uh, school board type, uh, elections,
1 get just as good of results as if I through darts at a board.
0 A: Right.
1 just to do away with the cost of the elections,
0 A: Yes. Yes. Not getting paroled, lets say in so many,
0 California had it for a long time, and then they, uh, took it off the books,
0 B: yeah. Well,
0 A: uh-huh. Uh-huh.
0 again.
0 I think that's what makes it so difficult.
0 if you take the (( )) to, to feed my sheep --
0 B: and that, that, you know, and you, I think that's one of those things
0 assaulted --
0 Especially in the minority n-, neighborhoods.
0 told looking at it s-, all so, I have some bias in this.
0 B: but, uh,
1 B: Yeah [laughter].
0 B: I, I just don't see how a person could, could put enough, away enough
0 B: Yeah.
0 B: Yeah.
0 B: and I, burned my grass off here in the last couple of days --
0 that's five by ten. I have two of them sitting side by side --
0 B: -- and I put that down, and then I put up a couple of inches of pine moss
0 A: Uh-huh.
0 B: No, I never have. I don't know how to prepare them.
0 dressing, like for,
0 B: I have the room outside I need, and I don't really have all the room in the
1 house I need but,
1 A: Oh really.
0 A: Are they a hard worm?
1 he sprays his yard, and you get them back again [laughter].
0 B: pretty,
0 B: Yeah, they are. They real,
1 A: like they do in public service. I suppose the idea is to, um, I don't
0 A: Well, I tend to agree and, um, in that we do live in the United States and
1 At least I, m-, I'm, I don't think I would vote for it if it came down to
1 @@B: [Laughter] Does kind of catch you by surprise [laughter].
0 A: Huh.
0 is there a real high, uh, alkaline or ((ash)) content or,
0 areas.
0 B: No, they're, they're in pretty good condition.
0 B: Yeah, well, that's neat.
0 A: uh, it was kind of pretty nice, but, uh, I just wish that I had an
0 opportunity to do a little more.
0 A: and setting up and breaking down. So, I decided that I would lease a
0 it's not all that much.
0 A: no, they're not, they're, it's, it's too heavy for silver it's, it's more
0 B: [Laughter].
0 to fall for that gimmick but I, I have seen a few of them sell these things.
0 B: Right.
1 A: I'll give you a nickel for it, you know [laughter].
0 are, are worth hundreds of dollars. You know, and, and the coins themselves
0 B: It's really good. You can do it with chicken too. Chicken fajitas and
0 A: And, um, dipping Arabic bread, the thin ((piece)) of bread in that.
0 cook my turkeys inside, you know, it b-, you can buy smoked turkeys.
0 B: Yeah, it's been fun, it's been nice, it's, uh, you know, new to learn some,
1 know.
0 B: Um, oh, I watch a lot of, uh, public, we watch public television a lot
1 what they accomplished,
1 A: Well, I'm, I'm a struggling law student,
0 A: Uh-huh. Of course, I mean, it's got its bad side so it's limited by the
0 A: [Throat_clearing] Oh.
0 A: Yeah, I'll tell you.
0 B: I mean in Dallas they do.
1 A: Oh, well, there goes a patriot missile, oh, well, that's good,
0 room.
1 That's what, that's just like justice for all [laughter].
0 killed Saddam.
0 B: Oh, yeah.
0 A: Yeah. Well, they, they, they get,
0 A: Uh, I think that's about where it is.
0 B: And then I bought a van and that way I can sleep in the van and be more
0 A: and when they go on vacation a lot of times they'll just sleep in the
0 B: But I, I try [laughter].
0 A: I'm a sissy.
0 A: Well, not really because usually it's when we go off,
0 A: Just about.
1 A: But now that we have children and we go every blue moon,
0 B: cooking and, and all that kind of stuff too.
0 A: Yeah.
1 [laughter].
0 B: Oh.
0 A: And then the, uh, they take them to a special part of our dump where
1 have the bag for the newspapers,
1 refuse. It would have to be cut into four-foot lengths.
0 A: They don't mash [laughter].
1 Styrofoam cups to fill up our landfills or, uh, china cups to use up our
0 B: Uh-huh.
1 once we got them through your courts but, uh,
0 A: yeah, I would imagine the judge could throw it out.
1 you know [laughter].
0 B: [Laughter].
1 duty.
1 little realm, uh,
1 A: Right.
0 A: And finally, you know, who knows maybe they're finally waking up and
0 over Mongolia or, or something like that, who is really, will we have been
0 A: physically and try to, to remove them.
0 B: Yeah. Well, this would be like if somebody was elected president of the
0 B: areas wanting out of it,
1 places,
1 magazines either.
1 B: yeah, I'm glad you put it that way.
1 wanted to listen to their kind of luted grammar [laughter].
1 A: Yeah, Texas participation in the Civil War was, uh, minor at, uh,
0 B: Oh.
0 B: That's a beautiful state. That's a beautiful state. See I was raised in
0 read those things, and I still even then I was so, so disgusted with it I, I
1 B: Oh, okay.
0 B: Well, I loved that novel. And then somebody said, oh, God, this would have
1 and,
0 A: saw the movie here the other day told me it was the most terrifying thing
0 B: I mean the book is, is chilling.
1 human being. And you're just drawn into his, his horror,
0 B: Basically, well, I'm a vegetarian.
0 B: We certainly would.
0 A: but also the spices here, um, ((old bay)) is a spice. I don't know if
1 A: They put it on their french fries, they'll put it in their potato salad,
0 salad at a restaurant you don't really get a salad.
0 A: Uh-huh.
0 she'll just have the french fries, you know.
0 B: I was very happy about that because I, you know, I feel the same,
0 A: I'll tell Laura about that.
0 B: Yeah, tell her about that.
0 B: Well, ((spinoccoli)),
1 B: No.
0 Mike Riley had.
0 B: Oh, my goodness.
1 A: Right.
0 A: Well, they're just head and shoulders above everybody else this year.
0 B: they play so many sometimes I do think it's going to be more, it's luck
1 A: Yeah, uh, somebody took the fire out from under them.
0 B: Take that,
0 A: George ((Akals)) and Stacy ((Augmon)).
0 A: Their coach may not be there. I think Jerry ((Tarkenyon)) may be headed
1 A: Ever since Akeem changed his, uh, first name to Hakeem.
1 B: [Laughter].
0 A: They've got good individual players but some are getting old. Robert
0 B: Yeah.
1 A: because I work, and, uh, I have my dogs and I have a hard enough time,
1 A: And they all have to have the same one, you know. And,
1 B: here kid, this is, this is all you're getting [laughter].
0 parents there and, you know, helps the students or help the, the kids
0 murders too, isn't there?
1 B: have kids, you know. Career, to, to much into my career, you know
0 much that way over the Mideast. And you have the Palestinian question and
0 just getting lip service much like, uh, the Ayatollah Khomeini.
0 B: Because they're, because they will have more, uh, encounter with this as
0 B: And, uh, we, we pretty much proved our worth in combat as it were.
0 the United States with, with the change in attitudes and all that, you know,
1 I'm just)) getting out of the olympics and I'm going to give you back Panama.
1 not used to having them over in six days, you know.
1 B: Yeah. They shouldn't leave anything in Bagdad taller than three feet.
1 @B: Well, I tell you what it is. It's warm where I'm at [laughter].
0 A: And, uh, it's got the, you know, the kind of the black freckled things on
1 everything (( )).
0 B: [Laughter] All covered up.
1 probably have another sandstorm out there, you know.
1 A: Hadn't had one like that in a couple of years.
1 dust storm come in and it started raining,
0 all the rain start.
1 A: Well, I am somewhat less than enthused about that,
0 A: Yeah.
1 B: [Laughter].
1 B: So.
1 B: Exactly [laughter].
0 B: Clear across town.
1 shining and it would be hot down in the,
0 checked it off on the list --
1 think we should be a little more circumspect about it. Again, my opinion
0 spending.
0 we're paying almost eight percent sales tax, right now. Which seems to me
0 B: Huh-uh.
0 here are having to pay such a high amount of their actual bring home salary
0 B: I don't think we should ever give them a lifetime income,
1 B: Unfortunately.
1 A: It, they speak with forked tongue, don't they.
0 cost more,
0 B: Huh-uh.
1 A: Huh-uh.
0 A: That's so awful. Well, what about in New York. I guess you've gone that
1 B: No. Never been in New York [laughter].
0 A: Up in the, back in the east. It's really,
1 B: Thirty-one. You're, you're young [laughter].
1 B: No, you're young. You have a lot of life yet,
0 B: They say it has really made a difference, though.
0 A: Huh-uh.
1 It's helped me to think more about some issues that I need to be thinking more
1 tent camping, and we had access to a motor home which is really super great,
1 B: Yeah, the first, first couple of times it's pretty scary but, uh,
0 B: Yeah.
1 size, you know. If you get four milk cartons and that fills up trash bag, you
1 B: Yeah. That's true. And they won't raise our taxes.
1 A: Ha-ha [laughter].
0 A: Talk to you later.
0 A: Uh, let's face it, today's, uh, means of communication, we could, a
1 the best resource,
1 A: Barney Fife, I guess.
1 morning, but not the NINJA TURTLES. I like the old-timey ones,
1 recognizing what was going on, I thought, this isn't really very good
1 every once in awhile and I don't recognize anybody, so I guess that's a good
1 somebody about gun control.
0 A: No. And my fiancee is about an hour from D C,
1 get it done.
0 B: And it's about, oh, forty-five minutes north. And, uh, Dallas is a mess.
1 B: Yeah. Oh, yeah. It's bad. And, and well, in certain parts of town it's
1 A: Yeah. That's, that's just ridiculous, you know [laughter].
1 A: You know, I mean, it was like, don't you dare stop [laughter].
1 A: I don't care if there's a red light.
1 There's a saying down here, all roads lead to south Dallas when you get lost
0 B: Uh-huh.
1 the window and he'd watch a policeman chase someone down the sidewalk.
1 A: other than maybe a butcher knife,
0 A: Uh-huh.
1 B: and antique weapons. (( )) he can shoot a muzzle loader real good.
0 B: It was sad.
1 gun. And to this day they declare that the gun was not loaded.
0 B: Wow.
