Reliable Movie Ranking is a short Python code to compare the top movie lists of several databases and to create a reliable ranking from this. In its current state, the code parses the top 250 list of IMDb and the top 100 list of Rotten Tomatoes. It then prints out the movies which appear in both lists.
The idea is that the ranking of a single movie database might not be considered reliable, so having a synthesis of several hit lists might reflect better the movies that are generally considered as top. This software is provided as a (hopefully) easy-to-read Python code, so that everyone can check that the code does not bias the results.
Since the websites of IMDb and Rotten Tomates might change over time, it cannot be guaranteed that the code will always work as it is provided right now. It works at the time of writing (July 2020), and I hope that you can update the code if you are reading this in the future and my parser does not work anymore.
Feel free to extend the functionality of Reliable Movie Ranking to make it suit your needs.
Bon film!

The first number is the ranking on IMDb, in brackets is the corresponding rating. The second number is the ranking on Rotten Tomatoes, in brackets is the corresponding score. Then comes the year of the movie, its title, and a list of people associated with it (usually the director and two main actors).
This list does not reflect my personal taste. It is an automatically created synthesis of two movie rankings on the internet.
