or an option to distribute cards over a few days, just like it's done in anki plugins.

I second this, it was my immediate thought as I was reading the delightfully detailed description. Some way to limit the amount of things shown to you per day (or any interval, really) would be very welcome, as I can totally see myself spending a long time just going through everything.

Thank you for your feedback, it's on the long-term to do list :)

In the meantime, I encourage you to just use queue for as long as you want on a given day, or setting a daily time or card limit for yourself; the software doesn't break in any way even if you have thousands of cards "due" at any given point.
Implementing a daily limit would in effect be nothing more than hiding due cards from the user (although I understand the psychological advantage)
