Project Motivation

Nobel Prizes are prestigious prizes awarded in different fields for contributions in Science, Medicine, Economics and Peace. Scientists and activists deemed to have made significant contributions to the advancement of science and the betterment of humanity are awarded these coveted prizes every year. This project focuses on exploring the different factors that have had a significant impact on who has received these awards and also focuses on the gender disparity in the total number of awards bestowed over a hundered years.

Launch Binder

Launch Binder to view the original Jupyter Notebook file and all the code used to generate the visualizations.

Majority of the work done on Jupyter Notebook and hosted on nbviewer

  1. Install Anaconda and all necessary libraries (pandas, scikit-learn, numpy, matplotlib, etc.)
  2. Install Seaborn for data exploration.
  3. Install Plotly for interactive vizualizations.
  4. Google Data Studio used for a high level overview of the dataset.

The dataset consists of 969 observations over six categories and most of the features are categorical. Link to the dataset (.csv format)
