No controller input in 1.16.0 SNAP installer for Ubuntu #16050

Description

After installation using snap installer in Ubuntu 22.04 (latest stable release as of now), xbox controller not detected by RetroArch front-end. Linux can see the controller ok, and the apt installer of RetroArch (v1.7.3) on the same machine can see controller ok. This is after updating all cores, settings, databases etc in online updaters and restarting RetroArch, and rebooting machine.

Expected behavior

Controller detected by RetroArch

Actual behavior

Controller not detected.

Steps to reproduce the bug

  1. sudo apt get install retroarch
  2. launch retroarch
  3. update everything using online updater
  4. restart retroarch
  5. Settings -> Input -> Retropad Binds -> Port 1 Controls -> Set all Controls
  6. System does not respond to any input on controller

Happens in 1.16.0 release with snap installer on Ubuntu 22.04

  • OS: Ubuntu 22.04 for x86 64bit, runing the KDE desktop on Xorg server
  • Compiler: N/A (used prebuilt snap install)

@Smashcat Do you reproduce the issue with Appimage ? If not, please retry with latest Snap package.

If you reproduce the issue only with Snap package, it will be better to open an issue to the dedicated repository.
