[BUG] Bullets in README dont render in mkdocs site

Is there an existing issue for this?

Current Behavior

On the mkdocs site there are two spots where the bullets don't render because they need a space between the bullets and the preceding line:

• between these lines (mkdocs)
• and these lines (mkdocs)

Expected Behavior

should render the bullets
