Hi! thanks for your app in the first place. I have been using it every day to takes notes from my daily work. It help a lot for the daily meetings. The template would be an awesome functionality. I have a template (created in linked) and now I'm copy pasting this text in the next day using Ctrl+N and Ctrl+V for one month approximately. So I think that "inside a day and a selection has been made, the bubble menu would give you an option to save the selection as a template." is a good start point. At the same time, once the "save selection as template" option is selected, the following days the template will be automatically loaded. Again, your app is great, thank you very much. |

I've reached multiple requests of a possibility to have and use templates in linked. I'd like to hear your thoughts here and how you'd imagine how templates should work.
My idea
Creating templates
You'd have a separate view, either which is opened from the settings or directly by shortcut 1 that shows you all of your templates and lets you create new ones. Creating a new template would simply route you to a editor view in which you have the same editor as you use everyday but with out the calendar fuzz.
Another way of creating templates would be: If inside a day and a selection has been made, the bubble menu 2 would give you an option to save the selection as a template.
Recurring templates
Within the template view, you'd be able to select a default template to use for every day OR even templates per days.
Manual use of templates
By using the new slash commands 3 you could look for templates which then would show a second slash menu dropdown to select the desired template. If you already know the name, typing
/template caturday
+Enter
would replace the current content with the template or place it at the current cursor 4.Technical things that would need to be implemented

Going to add questions and tasks here to track them.
Footnotes
This could lead to an issue of having too many shortcuts eventually ↩
The menu that appears when you select anything in the editor ↩
To be released soon in 1.5.x ↩
Requires some research ↩
