Support Companion offers the following features for macOS administrators and end-users:


Actions

Perform various actions, such as:

  • Change Password.
  • Kill Intune MDM Agent.
  • Gather logs.
  • Reboot the system.

Information Displays

System Information

  • macOS version, model, serial number, and last boot time.

Battery

  • Battery cycle count and health status.

Disk

  • Disk space, FileVault status, and other disk-related details.

Integration with Munki and Intune

  • Displays Munki catalogs based on local device manifests.
  • Shows Intune patching progress and pending updates.

Applications

  • Displays installed applications and their versions.
  • Tracks the progress of application patching (Munki and Intune).

Customizations

  • Custom Cards: Add custom cards to the Home view or as its own view.
  • Self Service: Shows all MDM-configured actions for users to access via the UI.
  • Desktop Info: Displays device and system information directly on the desktop.
  • Markdown view: Add a custom view based on a Markdown file to the menu.

Web Integration

  • Company Portal: Displays a web view for Microsoft Intune’s Company Portal.
  • Knowledge Base: Includes a web view for your organization's KB.

CLI

  • Run actions, get device info and display current Support Companion status from the terminal.

Admin elevation

  • Let standard users elevate to admin for a set time duration.
  • Require the user to enter a reason for the elevation and either save it to disk or send to a webhook.
