Problem: Replying to a popular thread generates too many emails

If I reply to a thread like https://dogieda.org/posts/92b6cb90122e013afc6d448a5b29e257 early on, I will get an email for each reply to the thread, when all I'd like to be notified about would be replies to my comment (aka mentions).

The UI handles it decently by displaying one notification grouping that activity. What I find myself doing is going back into the app to click the bell to disable notifications for this post.
