Looks like Crystal Toolkit (Materials-Project) can only be used to render Atom Positions (and some propertiers), but not electron density.
If this can be confirmed, Crystal Toolkit is no option as an alternative to Plotly's Scatter-Plot.
VTK possibly, but difficult to implement
