A website for each victim of rape

Let's gather the co-victims of the same perpetrator!

Introduction

Our society obsess with pursuing the perpetrators. Legal justice is reduced to a cathartic function. But victims may wish many other things: what about the wish to help and protect potential other victims? And a rape victim is the best at protecting and understanding the damages caused by their own perpretator.

Let’s make sense of their experience! Let’s throw their bottle to the internet sea!

Quick start

This is the template for a website that any victim of rape or sexual assault can use.

In the folder ./docs you will find an example of website index.html. Just replace the text with your own text instead.

In it 3 information have to be put:

1. The element that will allow the other victim to identify the perpetrator. (for instance, name, city etc.). NEVER use pejorative or accusative terms just stay as neutral and objective as possible.
2. A reference to the feeling and the context in which the potential other victim is likely to be (and to recognise themselves), for instance: in a close relationship with the perpetrator, underage, feeling sad etc. NEVER mention the rape explicitely.
3. A contact info (keep it anonymous if you have serious safety concern).

In the folder docs we will put an example from a victim.

Disclaimer:

As far as we know there is nothing illegal or immoral in calling other victims for help and at no point this website is accusing anyone. But this website is not made by lawyers. This project is underconstruction, see issues. Justice knows borders when perpetrators don’t. Justice put the victim into a Kafkaian situation that is the last thing a victim deserves to live. Asking a victim why they do not pursue their rapist is like asking one victim of the titanic why they don’t go destroy the iceberg. They have better things to do, thank you!

• Create an issue with all the questions to lawyers: what a victim has the right to put without risk legally? How should he/she behave?

• Mention the Ukrainian war? This could be one solution when the legal system is inoperand in a country where war is happening. It is not because the country is in a war that rape stop happening, the opposit actually.

• Internet is the only resilient place designed to survive war. The offense that the victim has been through deserves also a resilient place, not in weak and closed government dependant administration.
