Issues with AHK versioning (v1 and v2) (e.g. "no formatter for 'ahk2' files installed")

Hiya, as v2 support is still in preview, some key features are missing. Additionally, VS Code seems to have some minor issues that I can't reproduce, but this discussion should help you sort out any issues with AHK v1 files being seen as v2 or vice-versa.

For reference, v1 files should have a blue icon in VS Code, and v2 files should have a green one:

Please note there is no formatter support for AHK v2 files yet. As such, you may get the error "There is no formatter for 'ahk2' files installed." when trying to format v2 files. This is expected if you're on a v2 file.

If you're on a v1 file but VS Code thinks it's a v2 file, then you've bumped into a minor issue with VS Code. Here's the workaround:

1. Open a .ahk file
2. F1 -> "Change language mode"
3. Configure file association for .ahk
4. Select "AutoHotkey v1"

Alternatively, you can rename your .ahk files to have .ah1 or .ahk1 extensions

Finally, you can add #Requires AutoHotkey v1 to each of your files--that's how the extension determines language mode for now, as it's the most definitive and simple way to do things :)

If these fixes don't resolve your issue, you can try a full re-install of the extension. VS Code caches the extension when you uninstall by default, so here's how to do a full uninstall:

1. Uninstall via VS Code
2. Remove the C:\Users\%user%\.vscode\extensions\mark-wiemer.vscode-autohotkey-plus-plus-* folder
   • %user% is your username
   • * is the current version of AHK++, e.g. 5.0.5
3. Reinstall via VS Code

This should clear out any issues with your cache and ensure you're using a clean version of the extension.
