Tajweed artifact in non tajweed mode

The Uthmanic Hafs Mushaf font has some tajweed indication artifact:

Here the ayah numbers are colored and the terminal kasra of فِيهِ is boxed to indicate silence of waqf.

Are these intentional?

Agree, that's at least confusing as the reader is allowed to stop at "laa royba" as well but that "fatha" is not marked with a box. Also I've taken a look at a mushaf with no tajweed rules and it does not contain that box.

Where are the fonts located anyway? What license are they in? Could QuranWBW use the KFGQPC fonts from Quran.com to improve ecosystem consistency?

Both are same fonts made by me, however, QuranWBW.com stores them in its own repository.

(The fonts are still in public beta release. They are Scholarly reviewed and safe for use. Currently, Level 3 - QA processes are underway, In'sha'Allah planning to complete by Ramadan.)

Maybe the Tajweed Mushaf doesn't have box at fatha of la-Raiya.

The non-tajweed version on websites works by selecting non-tajweed color palette stored inside the font file, which works by making all colors to black. It is the reason the boxes remained black, where as it should have changed to transparent, making them disappear.

However, this can be achieved by doing it with CSS code on the website.

Yes, it's intentional to assist basic users, however there is a possibility to disable them using CSS code without touching the font file. Maybe in future we will add the ability to toggle it.
