Static Gson

This library makes Gson faster by generating TypeAapterFactory with annotation processing. In other words, this is an AOT compiler for Gson.

Getting Started

For Android apps:

For Java apps with Gradle 2.12+:

dependencies {
    compileOnly 'com.github.gfx.static_gson:static-gson-processor:0.9.8'
    compile 'com.github.gfx.static_gson:static-gson:0.9.8'
}

Usage

Add @JsonSerializable to JSON serializable models:

@JsonSerializable(fieldNamingPolicy = FieldNamingPolicy.LOWER_CASE_WITH_UNDERSCORES)
public class User {
    public String firstName; // serialized to "first_name"
    public Stirng lastName; // serialized to "last_name"
}

Then, give StaticGsonTypeAdapterFactory.newInstance() to GsonBuilder:

Gson gson = new GsonBuilder()
        .registerTypeAdapterFactory(StaticGsonTypeAdapterFactory.newInstance())
        .create();

That's all. Gson#toJson() and Gson#fromGson() becomes faster for @JsonSerializable classes.

ProGuard

Keep classes generated by the annotation processor.

-keep @com.github.gfx.static_gson.annotation.StaticGsonGenerated class * { *; }
