Change the 'deployer' user in Production

Hi !
I have an application in production on a VPS and I have set up a deployer user from the 'localadmin' user for this Rails app.
I use active storage, the application is already in production, the posgresql database works, I have users etc.

Some resources have been mounted on the /mnt/ folder and the provider only gives access to its resources to root user 'localadmin'.
Can I just change the user name in the .tomo/config.rb file without a problem?
From host "deployer@app.example.com"
to host "localadmin@app.example.com"
(Of course I would have added this 'localadmin' user so that he had access to the postgres database)

I wouldn't want to do a 'tomo deploy' and crash my application. 😅

Hi again,
Finaly I tried to do a 'tomo setup' with this root user it starts correctly but there is an issue when it proceed to the task run "bundler:upgrade_bundler" :

 gem install bundler --conservative --no-document -v 2.5.16


  For more troubleshooting info, run tomo again using the --debug option.

  ERROR:  While executing gem ... (Gem::FilePermissionError)
      You don't have write permissions for the /var/lib/gems/2.5.0 directory.

Impossible to understand what happened, I tried to connect manually throught SSH in the /tmp/tomo_folder used for the setup and the command does not show errors.
The command shows nothing.

Secondly, I tried to launch a 'tomo deploy' to find some clue and it says:
Your RubyGems version (2.7.6.2) has a bug that prevents required_ruby_version from working for Bundler. Any scripts that use gem install bundler will break as soon as Bundler drops support for your Ruby version. Please upgrade RubyGems to avoid future breakage and silence this warning by running gem update --system 3.2.3 Your Ruby version is 2.5.5, but your Gemfile specified 3.2.5
I have Ruby 3.2.5 and Rails 7.1.3.4 installed.
Any ideas?

I found that the ssh login uses a different shell than the ssh command :
ssh localadmin@192.168.1.1 ruby -v
ruby 2.5.5p157 (2019-03-15 revision 67260) [x86_64-linux-gnu]

and the same with a real connection:
ssh localadmin@192.168.1.1
localadmin@xxx01:~$ ruby -v
ruby 3.2.5 (2024-07-26 revision 31d0f1a2e7) [x86_64-linux]

So I know this VPS has been previously used for different app, reason why there is multiple Ruby version but I'm lost about the shell.
If I enter echo $0 I got -bash and for the second -zsh
I don't know who to fix it through Tomo. 😢

Hi,
There were export PATH= entries at the end of the .bashrc file 😑😤
The problem is solved.
To conclude, the tomo setup worked, and the tomo deploy worked without problem with the user change.
The only two things I had to do are:

• I activated the linger:

loginctl enable-linger localadmin

• I redefined the environment variables when doing the tomo setup.
