More than 24 cells

I'm trying to use your class to cluster my thousands of coordinates into little cell clusters to be past on to my front end to generate heat map. However it seems that the maximum number of cells is only 24, is it possible to expand it further to like 500 or 1000? The reason I'm asking is I wish to cluster based on proximity... meaning all points within 1km of each other to be cluster under the same cell.
