Change Log for 1.3 (Codename: Kotys)

What's new?

OpenEBS data-plane upgrade

  • Director users can now upgrade data-plane components of their existing OpenEBS installation from the portal.
  • Data-plane components include cStor storage pools, cStor persistent volumes and Jiva persistent volumes starting with OpenEBS version 1.0 onwards.
  • The portal provides a topological view of the pools grouped by cStorPoolCluster (CSPC) and volumes grouped by applications. This helps users to understand the dependencies to be considered during the upgrade.
  • Users will have to manage the control-plane components upgrade on their own by following the OpenEBS documentation.

Open distro Elasticsearch

  • DirectorOnPrem has been updated to use Open Distro for Elasticsearch which is based on Elasticsearch version v7.1.1

Application-specific monitoring enhancements

  • Application-specific monitoring now comes with edit and delete support. Users will now be able to rectify any misconfigurations on the application monitoring front.

Bug fixes

  • Fixed the issue of maya-system namespace deletion on cluster disconnection.
  • Fixed a memleak issue with the server.
  • Fixed an issue with pagination on the DMaaS page.
  • Fixed an issue with the 'back' navigation button in application monitoring.
  • Updated the fav icon with the new company logo.

Known issues

  • DMaaS restore occasionally fails in slow-speed networks.
  • Need to tune CPU and memory limits for Elasticsearch server components if more than two clusters need to be connected. Refer the troubleshooting section for more details.
  • An issue exists with upgrade of volumes for an application with a mixture of LocalPV and cStor/Jiva CAS types, where the volumes are not visible in the portal for upgrade.
  • An issue exists with auto-refresh of pages after completion of DMaaS schedule creation or upgrade completion. A manual browser issue resolves the issue.
