This privacy policy governs your use of the software application ConText Scanner for mobile devices that was created by Mr. Aniruddha Tapas. ConText Scanner is a utility tool to turn your mobile into a portable scanner, which can be used for scanning handwritten notes and printed documents. It also incorporates OCR functionality which the user can use to detect text from documents and save them as editable text files in the external storage of the device.
ConText Scanner requires the following permissions :
- Read the contents of your USB storage
- Modify or delete the contents of your USB storage
These permissions are required to save the documents or OCR texts scanned using ConText Scanner. If this permission is not provided by the user, ConText Scanner would fail to save any of the scans and would also be unable to update the Documents Gallery with these scans.

These directories would be the location where the documents or OCR texts scanned using ConText Scanner are saved. These permissions are required by ConText Scanner for two purposes and these two purposes only:

To take picture of the handwritten notes or printed documents which would then be converted into document images as required by the user. Note that the pictures taken using camera for this functionality are not stored on any other location other than the user's device. This images are only saved to the user's device after the user agrees to the confirmation prompt from ConText Scanner. The images are not uploaded or stored anywhere else. If this permission is not provided by the user, ConText Scanner would fail to scan the documents for conversion.

Note that the pictures taken using camera for this functionality are not stored on any other location other than the user's device. This saved OCR texts are only saved on the user's device after the user agrees to the confirmation prompt from ConText Scanner. The images and OCR texts are not uploaded or stored anywhere else. If this permission is not provided by the user, ConText Scanner would fail to capture document pictures and recognize texts from them.

These permissions enable ConText Scanner to collect anonymous usage data. This usage data helps us to further improve the performance of ConText Scanner by keeping track of crashes and exceptions. It is enabled by default when user downloads ConText Scanner from Google Play. It can be disabled or enabled from settings page as per the convenience of the user.
ConText Scanner may collect certain anonymous usage data automatically, including, but not limited to, the type of mobile device you use, your mobile devices unique device ID, the IP address of your mobile device, your mobile operating system, the type of mobile Internet browsers you use, and information about the way you use ConText Scanner. Note that this data does not include private and privileged information like Username, Email, Phone number, Address etc. Such private information is not required and not collected by ConText Scanner.
User can opt out from sharing usage data with the developer from the settings page. User can disabled or enable the "Usage Statistics" from settings page as per the convenience of the user.
ConText Scanner does not collect precise information about the location of your mobile device.
No. Third parties have no access whatsoever to the information generated through the medium of ConText Scanner.
We do not use ConText Scanner to knowingly solicit any data from or market to children under the age of 13.
We are concerned about safeguarding the confidentiality of your information. ConText Scanner requires for and asks for permissions to access only the absolutely necessary functionalities of the user's device like Camera, Storage and Internet. These permissions if granted operate only in the domain of the user's device and no private information is shared to the developer, third party or anywhere else.
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time for any reason. We will notify you of any changes to our Privacy Policy by posting the new Privacy Policy here and inside the app. You are advised to consult this Privacy Policy regularly for any changes, as continued use is deemed approval of all changes.
