The goal is to enable a merge queue for main, to reduce the number of CI builds, and the degree of manual intervention (pressing the "Update branch" button) while keeping the same standard of checking.
The documentation build will need to be removed as a required check for now, and ported to GHA, where it is hopefully shorter/easier (no persistent token).
