Type: Bug

Dear Visual Studio Code Support Team,

I am encountering an issue with Visual Studio Code while using Python. The problem is that the "Select Interpreter" option is not appearing or working as expected.

I have tried the following troubleshooting steps:

  • Ensured that Python is installed on my system.
  • Installed the Python extension and Code Runner in VS Code.
  • Verified that the Python installation path is correctly added to the system PATH.
  • Installed the Jupyter extension
  • Restarted VS Code and my computer multiple times.
Unfortunately, none of these steps resolved the issue.

Could you please guide me on how to fix this problem? Additionally, let me know if you require any logs or system details to investigate further.

Thank you for your assistance.

Best regards,

VS Code version: Code 1.95.3 (f1a4fb101478ce6ec82fe9627c43efbf9e98c813, 2024-11-13T14:50:04.152Z)

I also have problems with Python Interpreter after the latest vscode update Version: 1.95.3 (Universal). It is very buggy.

same issue on macos 14.6 and rpi Debian GNU/Linux 12.

Hi! Do you always encounter this problem in tandem with the Jupyter extension? Are other people noticing that v2024.18.0 works but later ones do not?
