User Story

As a Obersvability Platform Team Member
I want to conduct interviews with several individuals from the Analytical/Data Platform Team
So that I understand their current systems, processes and stakeholders involved with observability
So that I can identify high-level problems, that require further investigation or that can feed into proposals for potential solutions

Value

Conducting interviews with the proposed users of an observability platform will aid in gaining deeper insights to the underlying problems teams are facing.

This insight will ensure that we build suitable solutions that target defined problems.

Assumptions / Hypothesis / Questions / Unknowns

• Should we attempt to get a spread of roles within the teams for a more diverse perspective? I.e. Delivery Managers, Product Managers, Lead engineers, Junior Engineers etc.

Proposal

Contact several people in Analytical/Data Platform across different teams and with different roles.

Schedule and conduct interviews with these individuals using the Interview Template.

Take notes during the interview and be prepared to deviate from the initial template to investigate further into insights that come up during the interview.

Make use of the User Interview Schedule to better co-ordinate the interview efforts, to minimise potential cross-over.

Definition of done

• Interviews conducted and notes recorded using the Interview Template
• Several individuals from a variety of roles and teams within Analytical/Data Platform have been interviewed
• All notes are stored within the Observability Platform Shared Drive, for later discussion
