The field of network measurement, a rapidly expanding area within the realm of security, has significant implications for a variety of subjects, including but not limited to network security, censorship, privacy, and machine learning. This course delves into both the traditional aspects of advanced network security and the emerging empirical methodologies, all viewed through the prism of contemporary research papers in the field of computer security. The objectives of this course was to gain a comprehensive understanding of empirical considerations, which span from technical to ethical aspects, and the development of research in all facets of network security.
