[Mobile][IOS] The “Do you want to download <file_name> ” pop-up is not shown after the download is complete for files larger than 50 MB #1506

[Affected versions]:

  • Safari for IOS 13.5.1
  • Safari for IOS 12.4.6
  • Firefox for IOS 27.0 (18428)

[Affected Platforms]:

  • IOS 13.5.1 (iPhone 7+, iPhone Xr)
  • IOS 12.4.6 (iPhone 5s)

[Prerequisites]:

[Steps to reproduce]:

  1. Tap the “Select files to upload” button.
  2. Tap the “Download” button from the uploaded file.
  3. Observe what happens after the download is complete.

[Expected result]:

  • The “Do you want to download <file_name> ” pop-up with “View” and “Download” options is displayed.

[Actual result]:

  • The pop-up is not displayed and the file is not saved anywhere.

[Notes]:

  • The Safari browser crashed after downloading a 20 MB file on IOS 12.4.6 (iPhone 5s).
  • The issue is not reproducible on Desktop using Safari browser 13.1.2.
  • The issue is not reproducible on Android 7 using the Native browser.
  • The pop-up is displayed when downloading smaller files.
