While the code for Jedi Academy's binaries (jasp.exe/jamp.exe/jagamex86.dll/jampgamex86.dll/jampcgamex86.dll/uix86.dll) is now open, the game assets are not. And there's no playing the game without the models, animations, maps etc.

There are basically 3 ways of getting around that:

  1. Buying the game gets you all the assets. (Jedi Academy is avaliable on steam, along with the rest of the Dark Fources/Jedi Knight series)
  2. The demo's files might work with some tinkering.
  3. Open replacements for the assets could be created.

OpenJK is mostly aimed at option 1, though some people have expressed interest in contributing to 3.
