The environment sensor controller is the main sensing unit to collect the information about plant's environment. It consists of 2 parts, the sensor board which contains on-board temperature, humidity, Carbon Dioxide, Air pressure and Light sensors and the connectivity board which sits on the top of the sensor board to provide wireless connectivity, arbitration between sensors, and data conditioning and transmission. The rationale behind keeping sensor and connectivity boards separate was to have the flexibility of having different connectivity options, Bluetooth or Zigbee for instance, by using different connectivity boards.
