Collapsible volume controls to prevent UI cluttering #11
Comments
I need this |
I currently don't have the time to convert the preferences window to gtk 4 for a few weeks. After that I will get to this. |
Maybe make the whole extension in a collapsible menu too |
If you end up doing this, please make it an option. I love not having to click any extra buttons to use this. |
I was about to suggest/ask for a tabbed mode, where each app would have only your tab its icon and inside the tab the volume bars for it. Mute and Mute all would be awesome! Having the names of the tabs on the bars would be helpful mainly with Firefox and Firefox based browser which behaves very weirdly: even muted if you change the volume it ignores the MUTED state and keeps playing sound. Or at least like Plasma widget where you have a tab for the system volume bars and other for the apps, but scrollable instead of having all at once. |
Hey @mymindstorm , is there any updates on this? |
I converted the prefs dialog to libadwaita, so it should be possible to hide applications. I still do not have enough time unfortunately. Pull requests are welcome. |
#6 Maybe showing this collapse menu only when >=3 apps (I think 10 as suggested are too many). In addition, this arrangement will fix a display issue: the apps list is detached from the sound controls at the top, but linked to the brightness control at the bottom. |
Please consider placing volume controls for individual apps in a collapsible section or similar to prevent cluttering of UI.
