To visually demonstrate and argue for the overall modularity aspect:

the same input dataset could be used across multiple studies
some (sub)datasets might not need to be shared with everyone (interested in meta-analysis would be interested only in stats results not input DICOMs or even BIDS)
keep study related data/code/runs information within the study
