Data split into Data and ExtraComponents in OBX-5

Is there a way to get the whole data array instead of it being split into two?. (hl7 v2.6)

Below is the data, what I want is to get the whole OBX-5 in one method call. The OBX-5 has 500 individual data points. At the moment the first 4 is found in OBX.GetObservationValue(0).Data and the next 496 is in OBX.GetObservationValue(0).ExtraComponents.

Looks like OBX-5 in your example is of type NA Numeric Array (according to OBX-2) and the data type seems to only have 4 fields in the places I have looked: https://hl7-definition.caristix.com/v2/HL7v2.6/DataTypes/NA

this also correlates with the dB used to generate the nhapi data types:

which explains why only the first 4 values in the numeric array are assigned and the rest are in ExtraComponents

looking at the specification its confusing to interpret as the definition table only has 4 rows (a row for each value) but the examples underneath seems to suggest it should allow more than 4 values:

it could be that the dB nhapi uses to generate its types is incorrect, I have reached out to the maintainer of the dB to see what his opinion is.

In the mean time you could just create an extension method to do this for you (wrapping up what you already started writing), I will look into an example when I can.
