This issue was reported on image.sc:
https://forum.image.sc/t/napari-v4-18-v4-19-plugins-installation-issues/91872

  • the user installed napari-0.4.19-Windows-x86_64.exe
  • the user installed plugins using the GUI Plugin installer and got:
from conda._vendor.auxlib.ish import dals
ModuleNotFoundError: No module named 'conda._vendor.auxlib'type

for cellpose-napari and stardist-napari, but other plugins worked fine.

User was also unable to install napari-chatgpt, because it doesn't have a conda-forge package, but this is a lesser issue IMO

I have opened #113, where the CI published fresh installers for 0.4.19. This PR is using the latest version of our CI pipelines, instead of the old legacy workflow, so there's a chance this strange bug is fixed.

You can find the artifacts in this URL: https://github.com/napari/packaging/actions/runs/8040035410?pr=113. The Windows installer is napari-0.4.19-Windows-x86_64.exe.

FWIW, I can't reproduce the error for napari-math or napari-stardist.

Do you mean with the artifact above or the original released bundle?

Yes, sorry, I mean the original release.
