It would be nice to track the size of the latest backup via telegraf. If the physical file size isn't possible, perhaps the count of items/files backed up could be useful.
The idea I'm looking for is to be able to alert if backups suddenly start shrinking compared to past ones, indicating that perhaps we are no longer backing up what we intended to. For example a system switches around the directories where files are stored that we need to backup.
