## Note about EU/US data centers [#eu-datacenter]

New Relic's alerts service is performed in the United States. By using New Relic alerts, you agree that New Relic may move your data to, and process your data in, the US region. This applies whether you store your data in New Relic's US region data center or in our [EU region data center](/docs/accounts/accounts-billing/account-setup/choose-your-data-center/).

Ready to try New Relic for yourself? [Sign up for your free New Relic account](https://newrelic.com/signup) and follow our [quick launch guide](/docs/new-relic-solutions/get-started/intro-new-relic/#get-started) so you can start maximizing your data today! If you need any help, check out our [tutorial series](/docs/tutorial-create-alerts/create-new-relic-alerts/) on creating alerts to get started.

To use this feature, select the “Receive notification updates on the channel as well” checkbox while configuring your Slack notification channel.

**Uncheck Slack notification overrides**

While addressing an issue in Slack, you may sometimes need a snapshot of what was happening when the notification was originally issued. Previously, the initial Slack issue notification would be overwritten as the issue was updated. Now, the **Override notifications** option on the context menu for new Slack notification workflows offers the ability to disable this behavior. This box is checked by default; if unchecked, the original notification will remain unchanged - making it easier to understand the state of your system at the time of the alert.

title: 'Customize chart refresh rates'
summary: 'Easily configure how often your charts refresh and manage compute cost'
releaseDate: '2024-09-17'
learnMoreLink: 'https://docs.newrelic.com/docs/query-your-data/explore-query-data/use-charts/chart-refresh-rates'
---
Customers on the [New Relic Compute](https://newrelic.com/pricing/compute) consumption pricing plan can now customize how often your data visualizations update with the refresh rate option. This feature allows you to personalize your dashboards further to suit your specific needs, ranging from refreshing every 5 seconds to every 24 hours.

This configuration option also allows you to control and manage costs, ensuring that you only pay for the value you receive. For example, you may want to refresh critical charts every 5 seconds, while keeping less frequently visited charts on a longer refresh cycle.

Easily configure refresh rates in the chart editor menu.

To adjust the refresh rate of a chart, go to a custom dashboard and select the **edit** menu on a chart. Then scroll down to the **Refresh rate** dropdown menu. Select the desired frequency and then **Apply changes**.

Note that this feature will update chart refresh rates for customers using the New Relic Compute consumption pricing plan. Learn more about this feature, including the default refresh rates, in the [docs](https://docs.newrelic.com/docs/query-your-data/explore-query-data/use-charts/chart-refresh-rates).
