Release: Collection Listing UpdateNew Relic Labs is happy to announce the release of the updated Collections view! With this view, you can choose between the traditional table listing, or a Card-based grid view that surfaces key Collection attributes and actions more prominently. You will now be able to see the cost associated with the most recent analysis run directly in the Collections listing, whether viewing as a table or as a Card. The Card view will support sorting by Name, Cost and Most Recent (default). Switch between the List and Card view using the toggle in the Collection Listing action bar. In addition, we have streamlined how analysis runs are triggered. When you update the Workloads included in a Collection, a 7-day analysis will be automatically initiated on save, to give you rapid insight into the cost profile of your new Collection configuration. (We will be adding support to auto-run an analysis on Collection creation in the next release.) Finally, as Cloud Optimize is an open source New Relic Labs release, the best way to reach us is through Github. To make this easier, we have collected the main channels together into a single Help menu, located at the top right of the screen. These include shortcuts to report a bug, suggest an enhancement, ask a question in our discussions space, or to quickly access the repo README. The release is available in the Beta channel - if you have opted to remain on the Stable channel, just click on "Switch to Beta" to see it. You can return Stable whenever you wish. Please share any feedback you may have in this discussion! |

Release: Results Listing UpdateNew Relic Labs is happy to announce the release of the updated Results view. The screen has been simplified, to make it easier to interpret cost impacts, locate cost outliers, or find targets for optimization. The screen is hierarchically structured, showing cost roll-ups at every level of the hierarchy (Collection, Workload, Cloud Service). Cost information is provided on each level to outline: Known Cost (cost that is determined using fixed values such as number of requests); Estimated Cost (cost that is driven by dynamic values such as peak transactions or active connections); the Total Cost (known + estimated); and Potential Savings (the amount that could be saved through service optimization). Workloads and Cloud Services can be collapsed or expanded, allowing you to progressively drill down into subsequent layers of detail. As you expand into Workloads or Service groups, each constituent element in that grouping will be colour coded to reflect the cost impact it has in its group. At the lowest level, you can view the list of entities that make up a specific Cloud Service grouping within a Workload. If optimization recommendations have been identified for an entity in that listing, it will be highlighted in the "Recommendations" column. To see the complete optimization details of the entity, click on the entity name in the row to show the details panel. For complete details regarding the Entity, click on "View entity details", to open up the Entity view in a separate tab. The release is available in the Beta channel - if you have opted to remain on the Stable channel, just click on "Switch to Beta" to see it. You can return Stable whenever you wish. Please share any feedback you may have in this discussion! |
