Updates are not pulled

I have the problem that I do not get any updates in my rss feeds. The last post is from 8h ago and the FreshRSS instance has already many more entries.

But I don't see any error messages in the log and the cron runs regularly without problems. Anyone an idea how I can come to the problem on the track?

How did you validate that cron runs without a problem? Because if you recently updated it could be that cron just doesn't execute anything for up to 24 hours

I have seen it myself that cron would be executed regularly according to the settings and entries in the log after increasing the log level.

And despite that the news job was not triggered.
I didn't find out why though, so it's probably not a simple reason.

News can't do anything about it though, if the Nextcloud job Framework doesn't execute our job for some unknown reason.

Me and also users of news have reported in the past that this is resolved on its own after around 24h.

I assume this could be due to a upgrade of Nextcloud or an app, disturbing the background job. Maybe the job is canceled during the execution but the job instance is not removed by the framework until it gets cleaned up by some regular job...

Yesterday I updated the following 2 apps:

https://apps.nextcloud.com/apps/uppush

but after that I still got new posts displayed.

Only since 3 o'clock no more posts came, maybe it is because of my backup but do not know why. The server wrid shut down so I have a clean backup. But that should not give any problems for the cron?

Well could be, if the Cron update was just running it might be blocking further updates.

However I'm not fully sure I have a limited understanding of the job Framework, this belongs to the server project.

Apps just register and then get called when it's time.

I set the timestamp in "reserved_at" of "OCA\News\Cron\UpdaterJob" to 0, now it works again.

what does it mean when a timestamp is entered there? That the job has run on error?

Would it be possible that you provide a php file that can be called by cron that resets the value?
Like:

UPDATE `oc_jobs` SET `reserved_at` = '1' WHERE `oc_jobs`.`class` = 'OCA\\News\\Cron\\UpdaterJob'

That could potentially break the rest of nextcloud. This really needs to be fixed on a server level.

Because that one entry might have bigger consequences. Maybe you're making the news app skip in front of the job queue by changing this and therefore the other jobs won't run, I don't know how the server handles this value.

Do you have apps to update every day? Because that's really the only scenario I've heard after which you could need to run this.

The server stops at night to make a proper backup, apparently the queue gets stuck.
