Hi, I personally don't need such a counter but I often see it on blogs and so on, so I guess some people find it useful. PRs are generally welcome, did you implement this in the front-end with js only? And how is the performance impact, noticeable changes? |

Hi, I'd like to propose adding a word count (or an estimated reading time, which is typically calculated based on the word count) to the table with articles.
It would help me know at a glance whether a new article is short enough to read when I don't have a lot of time, or just generally get an idea of how long each article will take - especially if I've added a new feed that has a lot of articles I want to read. I found that 7/8 of my feeds included the whole article so the word count was accurate, 1/8 feeds only included an excerpt.
I edited my installation to support this. It's not quite PR-able at the moment, but if there's interest I could finish it up. This is an example of how it looks right now:
