Please turn the current alpha version into a stable one. It works perfectly on my Raspberry, but on a Nextcloud environment with a hoster there is no chance to use the news app.
The current alpha version works in principle. What is still missing can be delivered step by step.

So what's missing? Where do you need help?

• There has been no release for over a year by now
• NC got updated multiple times (3?), supported are 28-30
• for none of those supported NC versions is a stable version of news available

That's very sad as news is one of my favorite apps I used daily – until I had to update NC for security reasons and had to remove news. Even an unfinished version would be better than none – perfect is the enemy of good.

So again: what's missing? where do you need help? you can the community help?

There is an unfinished version, it's marked Alpha because it's unfinished and you can install it from the store.

But unfortunately not with a hoster like Hetzner.de even though the alpha version has been running stable enough for months. Even if perhaps not everything from V24 was implemented in V25.

That sounds like something you should ask Hetzner about.

You're currently asking a group of volunteers if they want to change the way they manage their free and public software because the company you're paying for a service does not provide you with the system you want... that seems weird to me.

Well, the version you can install cannot be configured after installation. This has nothing to do with the hoster

But I can see that you probably don't care if others can use the actually great application because of not existing access to the console.

Even Hosters that offer you officially Nextcloud should offer you access to occ. Hetzner solves that for their Storage Share solution via their backend you can send occ commands via the webinterface.

If your hoster does not allow something like that it is really time to switch since there are many cases when occ will save your instance from chaos.
