Bring back old compact view and apps/news/#/items #2895

This is the way it is implemented now (#2867) using NcAppContent from the nextcloud libraries. If there is someone who takes the time and can implement this properly, then it would be possible. Have you tried the "Expanded Compact Mode", I think that is the nearest you want. For the apps/news/#/items route, that was not an official feature with news 24. It is simple the "All Articles" route which is hidden when "Show All Articles" is disabled. |

The advantage of the "All articles" route without the activated setting is the trimmed down left navigation. Would be cool if you could include it in the next update. |

Maybe it's too later now, but would it be worth setting "expanded compact mode" as the default for people who were using the old compact mode? I came to ask about how to get the ease of reading back, because "click on the title on the left, click on the cross in the top-right, click on the title on the left, click on the cross in the top-right" in current compact mode is significantly less smooth than the old "click to expand, click to shrink, click the next one, click the next one" or "click to expand, read to end, click the next one, read to end" approaches in old compact mode. "Expanded Compact View" is close enough to the old behaviour that it's usable for me. The top panel was a bit small IMO, but I guess you've got to account for lots of window sizes and people wanting enough space to be able to read the content. |

Using the new compact view on the desktop is a hassle for me. Items opening full screen instead of showing right below the expanded line and the "items" view is missing which enabled an view between unread and all items.
Could you please enable a separate option to get these two great features from the old news app back into the new version?
