wuotan

Compatibility

Wuotan was developed under Linux and successfully tested with a Samsung Galaxy S3 Neo (GT-I9301I).

Currently, it doesn't work on Windows because it lacks some quirks that seem to be necessary to flash devices on Windows.

Installation

$ cargo install https://github.com/nickelc/wuotan.git

Usage

List connected Samsung devices

$ wuotan help detect
wuotan-detect
list connected Samsung devices

USAGE:
    wuotan detect [OPTIONS]

OPTIONS:
    -h, --help                     Print help information
        --usb-log-level <LEVEL>    set the libusb log level [possible values: error, warn, info,
                                   debug]

Example

$ wuotan detect

Print PIT from connected Samsung device

$ wuotan help pit print
wuotan-pit-print
print the contents of the PIT from a connected device or a PIT file

USAGE:
    wuotan pit print [OPTIONS]

OPTIONS:
    -d, --device <DEVICE>          select a device via bus number and its address (ex: "003:068",
                                   "3:68")
    -f, --file <FILE>              read local PIT file
    -h, --help                     Print help information
        --usb-log-level <LEVEL>    set the libusb log level [possible values: error, warn, info,
                                   debug]

Example

$ wuotan pit print -f s3pit.dat

Flash partitions

$ wuotan help flash

flash partitions to a connected device

USAGE:
    wuotan flash [OPTIONS]

OPTIONS:
    -d, --device <DEVICE>          select a device via bus number and its address (ex: "003:068",
                                   "3:68")
    -h, --help                     Print help information
        --no-verify                don't verify the checksum of tar files
    -p, --part <NAME> <FILE>       partition name and file image
        --reboot                   reboot device after upload
    -t, --tar <FILE>               tar file containing the file images to be flashed
        --usb-log-level <LEVEL>    set the libusb log level [possible values: error, warn, info,
                                   debug]

Example: Flashing CF-Auto-Root

$ wuotan flash --partition recovery recovery.img --partition cache cache.img.ext4
Uploading RECOVERY
RECOVERY upload successful
