tlsSocket.end() or tlsSocket.destroy() automatically close netSocket

tls.connect(options[, callback])

The docs say "Connection/disconnection/destruction of socket is the user's responsibility"
But the netSocket I'm passing to the 'socket' option is getting closed automatically when tlsSocket.end() or .destroy() is called.

Any ideas?
