Full DAP vs Cliff‐compressed DAP

  • First, it is important to define DAP = Document Array Profiles.

  • The DAP is used for document listing which essentially determining what document(s) ("genome (s)") contain a certain string. This is used to classify reads. Cliffy allows users to build full DAPs as well as a compressed version which we call the cliff-compressed DAP.


  • How do I decide if I want to use a full DAP or cliff-compressed DAP?
    • If you want to just do multi-class classification and you have a small number of classes, you should use the full DAP.
    • If you want to do taxonomic classification and you have a large number of documents, you should use the cliff-compressed DAP.
