editing with role student not available

Dear Community
Some time ago we changed from v3.9.1 to v4.1.11. With v3.9.1, all participants were able to upload, edit or delete images in the lightboxgallery by default. We would like to keep it that way.

Last week a student (in Moodle v4.1.11) noticed that she could upload images to the lightboxgallery but no longer edit or delete them.

Work arround: The activity lighboxgallery can be assigned the role "trainer" to all students via "assign role" to allow all participants editing possibilities. Unfortunately, this solution is unsatisfactory, as it can only be used once the participants are enrolled in the course - and not as a default setting when the course is created.

In the Admin > role settings for students, the following rights are set to Allow:
mod/lightboxgallery:addcomment
mod/lightboxgallery:addimage
mod/lightboxgallery:edit
mod/lightboxgallery:submit
mod/lightboxgallery:viewcomments

--> These rights do not seem to apply. Do you have any suggestions on how we can reactivate the editing options for all participants as default settings when creating the activity lightboxgallery?
