5. Open Letter of Commitment
The Supply Chain Data Exchange Standard (SC-DEX) is an open, machine-readable JSON data standard developed to streamline the collection, storage, and exchange of supply chain data. This standard is built on principles of interoperability and scalability, allowing for consistent data exchange across different systems while improving transparency and decision-making.
The SC-DEX Open Letter of Commitment invites organizations and technical implementers to join the effort in adopting the standard.
By committing to SC-DEX, organizations align with a community-driven initiative to reduce the inefficiencies caused by data reformatting and duplication. The adoption of SC-DEX enables a standardized approach to supply chain data publication, enhancing data accuracy and reducing processing time.
The following roadmap outlines the adoption phases for organizations and technical implementers over the next three years:
Year | Milestone |
---|---|
2024 | Commitment to adopt SC-DEX |
2025 | Recommended implementation by all data service partners |
2026 | SC-DEX preferred among data service providers |
2027 | Full implementation requested of all service partners |
Year | Milestone |
---|---|
2024 | Review compatibility with SC-DEX |
2025 | Begin publishing data in SC-DEX format |
2026 | Request SC-DEX format from collaborators and partners |
2027 | All future feature and tool builds compatible with SC-DEX |
Commitment is phased to allow gradual adoption and data conversion, with full implementation targeted by 2027.
The SC-DEX Open Letter of Commitment is currently open for public review. We welcome feedback from all stakeholders. To leave comments, please visit the Google document where you can submit suggestions during the four-week public review period starting October 31st, 2024.
To join the signatory list and commit to SC-DEX, please email shuya@opensupplyhub.org with your intent to commit.
