Axis camera UDP/TCP Input

Hello everyone,

I would like to know if it’s possible to send TCP or UDP commands to an AXIS camera to configure or switch it into a specific mode, such as night mode.

Is there any documentation or example of messages (TCP or UDP) that would allow controlling the camera this way? I'm particularly interested in a command that could directly enable night mode via the network.

I hope this example will assist you in creating a TCP server within an Axis camera using the AXIS Camera Application Platform (ACAP). You can find the related discussion here.

Once you receive TCP commands, you can map them to the appropriate VAPIX API calls for camera control.

To help you control VAPIX APIs from ACAP, these examples will be useful:

2. OpenSSL and CURL Example

For instance, if you need to configure the camera or switch it to a specific mode like night mode, you can refer to the DayNight API in the VAPIX library.

The reason I can't use this is because of the password I can't put an address like this: “http://user:password@192.168.1.2/.... ”

It is very strange to find that there is no option to enter Username and Password in the controller interface.

I am not sure what camera Axis OS version you have but you can enable the "Allow anonymous viewing" option and try.

I'm in AXIS OS version 10.12.221

So I have allow the anonymous acces But even with this, you need the password to perform the actions. Maybe there's something else you need to do?

I don't think we have any other option here. Do this controller support Basic Authentication?
