How to implement prismjs with Lektor

By any chance as someone implement prismjs with Lektor CMS to syntax highlighting code? Lektor uses Markdown for blog post content but when converting from Markdown (they called Content.lr files) to HTML, the output is not as expected.

It works if I manually add the code as prismjs documentation indicates:

Previous code, output the following in the BlogPost:

But the idea is that users adding Blog posts use plain Markdown. Any advice could be helpful.
