Hello. Fedora38, beta repositories.python --version is returning 3.11.4.
Did dnf install xpra, and then dnf install xpra-codecs-extras but Nvidia xpra modules are not installed:

xpra encoding returning:
No module named 'xpra.codes.nvidia' in nvdec, nvenc etc.

What am I missing? Maybe some python3.10(or 12)-xpra-codecs package to install?

Oh, just noticed that you're talking about Fedora 38, there are no nvidia packages for this release yet:

Well, rebooted, unistalled, reinstalled, rebooted again, and it keeps failing....same error

It's possible though very unlikely that there is an ABI problem with the dummy driver on Fedora 38.
I have:

$ rpm -qa | grep dummy
xorg-x11-drv-dummy-0.4.1-1.xpra1.fc38.x86_64

And I'm not experiencing any problems.

Perhaps this is the cause?
Maybe we can tell Xorg to ignore dri for Xdummy.

Now the things are getting uglier. Launching xpra using:
python3 /usr/bin/xpra start-desktop :20 --start=xfce4-session --resize-display=1920x1080
makes xpra fail. The log:

That's almost always an ABI issue or a problem with system updates.
Can usually be fixed by rebooting - which I hate doing.

EDIT: found the cause of the Xorg error: uninstalling xpra-codecs-extras fixed it.

Until then, you may want to switch to Xvfb to bypass all these problems, temporarily.

That's just a different manifestation of this issue:

You could change the invocation line (--remote-xpra="/usr/bin/python3 /usr/bin/xpra"), or you might as well modify the shebang in /usr/bin/xpra to point to /usr/bin/python3.

Hello. Change the shebang and all ok with beta now. And installed Fedora 37, nvenc working now (it is working too in Almalinux 9.2).

Take note that the installation of xpra-codecs-extra was causing the Xorg error for me in Fedora 38. Uninstalling this package fixed it.

Change the shebang and all ok with beta now.

The current beta builds should have the correct shebang now.

Take note that the installation of xpra-codecs-extra was causing the Xorg error for me in Fedora 38. Uninstalling this package fixed it.

Then this is very likely to be a memory corruption issue with one of the codecs brought in by this package.
My bet would be on some hardware accelerated encoder in gstreamer.

FWIW: I hit a very similar Xorg crash, fixed by a dnf update followed by a reboot.
It is most definitely an issue with some drivers / component ABI getting out of sync when applying system or driver updates.
