AOS feature development roadmap 2023

This is our proposal of development roadmap for 2023. We are open to productive discussion around each of the points. In between the major milestones, bugs will of course be fixed and minor improvements will be made.

Of course, we also welcome new suggestions for improvements of all kinds.

Q1 2023

• [AOS Version 1.0.0] - Stable setup for production system
  • Includes one stable AOS instance in Gießen with multiple redundant nodes within and a backup concept.
• [AOS Version 1.1.0] - Event notifications
  • Get notifications on subscribed events e.g. creation of objects in specific collections etc.
• [AOS Version 1.1.0] - Service accounts which are not bound to a specific person
• [AOS Version 1.1.0] - Label key enforcement
  • Can be used to enforce predefined label keys for all objects in a specific collection. Preliminary stage to support entire ontologies.

Q2 2023

• [AOS Version 1.2.0] - Bundled downloads
  • Download multiple objects in a single file as packed archive.
• [AOS Version 1.2.0] - Data Proxy S3 overhaul
  • Includes S3 compatibility/interface.
  • Overarching endpoint concept for geological regions.

Q3 2023

• [AOS Version 1.3.0] - Action Hooks
  • Communicate with a service to execute a specific action with an object's data.
• [AOS Version 1.4.0] - Workflow Integration
  • Integrate AOS with your workflow infrastructure.

Q4 2023

• [AOS Version 1.5.0] - Multisite setup
  • Including object data replication, etc.
• [AOS Version 1.5.0] - Private endpoints
