All release note news items have been added to their respective release on https://github.com/dodona-edu/dodona/releases. In addition, his post will serve as an archive for other news posted there.
Privacy policy update: private accounts - 2022-08-18
In Dodona release 6.0.0, we updated our privacy policy. In that version, we enabled users signing in using their personal Google or Microsoft account. Users signing in that way must explicitly agree with our privacy policy (opt in).
For users signing in using their institutional account, nothing changes.

Privacy policy update: Google Analytics removal - 2022-02-05
In Dodona release 5.3.1, we updated our privacy policy. In that version, we stopped making use of Google Analytics so it is no longer needed to mention it in our privacy policy. The following sentences were removed:

Pythia judge renamed to python - 2019-10-22
To avoid confusion and to be more consistent with other judges, the
pythia
judge has been renamed topython
. This change was made automatically and requires no further action from users. In addition, thebiopythia
judge was merged into the Python judge, since they used the same codebase. All python exercises can now just use thepython

2LinK2 organizes its first conference on computational thinking for computer science and STEM educators on Thursday June 13, 2019 in Ghent, Belgium. In a hands-on workshop with Dominiek Vandewalle (College Waregem) and Alex Bervoets (Atheneum De Ring, Leuven) – two computer science educators in secondary schools – team Dodona introduces its intelligent tutoring system for learning computer programming in secondary education. JetBrains plugin - 2019-03-09
Programmers developing in one of the JetBrains IDEs (IntelliJ IDEA, PyCharm, WebStorm, …) can submit their solutions to Dodona using a plugin developed by Pieter De Clercq en Tobiah Lissens. Their GitHub repository contains instructions for installing and using the plugin, and accepts issues and pull requests. All bug reports, feature requests or new ideas are welcomed.
