Is there a way to produce static builds of the tools?

Specifically I need a way to produce builds that will run on a dumbed-down x64 linux device that I can't install the dependencies on.

Is this something that's officially supported? I couldn't find anything of value online.

I'd try make ARCHOPTS="-static".

Try installing SDL2-static? https://packages.fedoraproject.org/pkgs/SDL2/SDL2-static/index.html

If it still doesn’t work, you probably need to compile it yourself. What you’re doing is pretty niche.

I installed SDL2-static, libstdc++-static, and glibc-static and that got me past the initial errors, but now I'm stuck on this with no clear remedy:

That suggests you updated a runtime library or changed important compile options without doing a clean build. Blow away the build folder and try again.

Did that, reran make, and it produced a bunch of static builds no problem.
